Overview
A 6-week, diagnosis-first mixing course built specifically for independent artists who already make and record their own music, and keep hitting the same wall: mixes that sound right in one place and fall apart everywhere else. Instead of starting with theory, we start with a mix you've done, broken down to show exactly where it's failing and why.
What You’ll Get:
- 8-10 completed mixes, each one carrying forward a correction from the last.
- An honest, specific read on your own weaknesses as a mixer. Not a generic checklist of mixing tips.
- A real handle on why mixes fail to translate across systems, and how to test and fix for it.
- Direct, in-the-room feedback from mentors actively mixing professional work, not pre-recorded lessons.
How it's structured:
Six weeks. Three sessions a week. Three hours a session. about 54 hours of real, hands-on mixing time.
Where it happens:
Not a sterile classroom with a whiteboard. Off The Wall's studio is built to feel like a creative space, not a lecture hall. Because the room you make music in should feel like somewhere you'd actually want to make music.
After week six:
The course ends. The support doesn't. You'll have a place to keep showing your work, keep getting feedback, and keep building past where the four weeks leave you.

Common questions
Is this course for beginners?
Not quite. This course is designed for artists and producers who already record or mix their own music and want to understand why their mixes aren't translating.
What makes this course different?
We don't begin with theory. We begin with one of your own mixes, identify exactly what's holding it back, and use that as the foundation for everything you learn.
How many mixes will I complete?
Most students finish between eight and ten mixes, with each project building on the lessons from the previous one.
Will I learn mixing plugins?
Yes, but the focus is on decision-making rather than memorizing plugins. You'll learn why a mix works, not just which settings someone else uses.
Will I get individual feedback?
Absolutely. With a maximum of six students per batch, every participant receives detailed, practical feedback throughout the course.
Will my mixes sound better everywhere?
That's the goal. You'll learn how to identify translation problems, test your mixes across different playback systems, and make confident decisions that hold up outside the studio.
